5 Levels of Training

Three Levels are listed below; higher levels will be revealed as group matures:

  • Blue level
    Techniques: Basic Holds, Control Positions
  • Green level
    Techniques: Armlocks, Takedowns, Chokes
  • Red level
    Techniques: Advances Armlocks, Takedowns, Chokes and Counters

    c) catch - grabbing your own bicep, aka choke
  3. Base Position
  4. Control Positions, including control of base
  5. Sit Out/Switch - 3 variations
  6. Escape from Saddle Mount (drill)
  7. Escape from Bottom Body Scissors
  8. Elbow Hook and Roll
  9. Stand Up
  10. Breaking down base positin
  11. Arm Drag - go behind
  12. Single Level Drive - in & out + trips
  13. Body Block Jam Takedown
  14. Sprawl and Cross Face
  15. Elbow pull
  16. Crotch Heist - Counter single
  17. Quarter Nelson - Head outside counter
  18. Toe Hold from base position

Fitness

Male:

  • 20 consecutive Dandas
  • 40 consecutive Bhetakas
  • 15 Jackknife
  • Bhumi- and Griv- asanas / 10 breaths w/no hands
  • Hastvrikrasana (wall hand stand) / 10 breaths
  • 6 Pull-ups
  • Head to knee Paschi- and Ekapada- asanas
  • Cakrasana / 5 Breaths

Female

  • 10 Consecutive Dandas
  • 30 Bhetakas
  • 15 Jackknife
  • Bhumi- and Griv- asanas / w/no hands
  • Hastvrikrasana (wall hand stand) / 5 breaths
  • 1 Pull-up
  • Head to knee Paschi- and Ekapada- asanas
  • Cakrasana / 5 Breaths

Theory

  • Control - Key points of hold-downs
    a) wherever the head is, there is an opportunity to move the opponent
    b) Hip Control - hips lower than opponent and do not try to control upper body
    c) No space between you and the opponent
    d) Always make the control uncomfortable
    e) Always drive weight into the opponent
    f) Stay off your knees
  • Minimum effort to Hook
    a) Difference between hook and submission
    Strength is not necessary for hooks
  • Constant movement
  • Stay off back
  • Opponent takes your weight
