Welcome to NorCal Catch!
At the NorCal Catch Wrestling Club, we mix the submission grappling techniques of Catch Wrestling with the body conditioning training of Indian Kushti. Our program develops the practitioner's neck and core strength, flexibility, and speed. Excellent for recreational exercise as well as serious training for those interested in entering amateur mixed martial arts tournaments.
Combat Submission Wrestling
Combat Submission Wrestling (CSW) is a blended grappling and strikin system devised by former Light Heavyweight Shoot Wrestling World Champion Erik Paulson. It utilizes the best standing, clinch, takedowns, tackles, submissions, strikes, and throws from Judo, Sambo, Greco-Roman, Collegiate and Freestyle Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing, Kickboxing, Savate, Catch Wrestling, Judo, Pancrase, Sambo, and Shooto.
This is one of the most complete hand-to-hand fighting systems available today. This system contains a perfect blend of fighting styles to fully develop ones STRIKING, CLINCHING, TAKEDOWNS, and GROUND FIGHTING. Many of today's top-level MMA fighters train in CSW including Sean Sherk, Josh Barnett, Ken Shamrock, and Nick Thompson.
